Ke-way-gosh's first husband was Peter Pe-nay-se-waw-naw-quot who drew annuity payments with Ne-baw-nay-ge-zhick's Forks Thorn Apple Band. In the Roll of 1854, Pe-nay-se-waw-naw-quot drew for himself, a wife, and two children, and in 1857 where he again drew annuity payments with Naw-baw-nay-ge-zhick's band. It is assumed that he died sometime after the roll of 1857 where he is named, and the roll of 1859 where he is not named, and Key-way-gosh is named drawing annuity payments for herself and three children. Two of Peter Pe-nay-se-waw-naw-quot's children are named in Durant's field notes, they are; Ching-guaw (also known as Agnus Halfaday; and Penay-se-wan-quot, who was also known both as Joe Pete and Joseph Peters.
While much of Ke-way-gosh's history has went with her to her final resting place, we can still look at the Indian Annuity Rolls, and U.S. Census records in an attempt to reconstruct and interpret her family life and children.
