English Civil War Royalist Commander, Scottish Nobleman. The 2nd Duke of Hamilton, he was commander-in-chief to King Charles II during the English Civil War. He was mortally wounded at the September 3, 1851 Battle of Worcester, the final battle of the war that gave victory to Olive Cromwell and the New Model Army.
