Eleanor Kulaszewski of East Tawas, previously of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Sunday, April 24, 2011.

Eleanor was born August 2, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent and Sarah (Malinowski) Nearing.

She and Leonard Kulaszewski were united in marriage April 19, 1941.

Eleanor was a member of Third Order of St. Frances. She was also active in the Genesee County Association for Retarded Citizens. Eleanor was loving and giving; she will be greatly missed.

Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Maryann and husband, David Tarrant, and Jeffrey and wife, Marcia Kulaszewski; six grandchildren, Kristopher Ferenz and girlfriend, Karen Chapello, Amy and husband, Steve Lorenz, Victor and wife, April Kulaszewski, Jeffery Vincent Kulaszewski, Jason and wife, Stephanie Tarrant, and Jules Tarrant and partner, Tonya Oliveira; nine great-grandchildren, Tara Carter, Hayden and Kaleb Ferenz, Tyler, Erin, Jillian, and Megan Kulaszewski, and Devin and Dylan Tarrant; one great-great-grandchild on the way, Teagan Carter; one brother, Alois and wife, Ruth Nearing; two sisters, Leona and husband, Jack Bennet and Phyllis and husband, Steve Veselenak; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends from Golden Agers and Burger King Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Leonard; son, Gary Kulaszewski; son, Arthur Kulaszewski; sister, Virginia and husband, Michael Popadich; nephew, Douglas Veselenak; niece, Marilyn Dobbs; and best friend, Ann Swartz. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in New Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday night, the family will gather at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. to pray the rosary. On Thursday morning, Eleanor will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Operation Shoebox - Supporting Our Troops or Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
