George Custard, a German, came to the township after 1781, and purchased land now owned by Peter Bachman. He was born April 25, 1750, and died May 11, 1813. His wife, Anna Maria, died in 1841, aged eighty-one years. They had no children, and half of their property was left to the Evangelical Association, of which they were members. Services were held at their house. Age at death. 63 years, 16 days.
