William B. Neff of 117 Pike St, Coal Grove, passed away in his home Monday evening very suddenly at 7:oo p. m. Mr. Neff had been ill since December 19, 1946, but his condition was not regarded as serious until about 30 minutes before his passing. He was born February 20th, 1884 at Sheridan, Ohio and spent his entire life in this community. He was a son of the late George and Mary Collier Neff. He had been employed by the Alpha Portland Cement Co., for the past 20 years as a crane operator. Mr. Neff was a fine Christian man and was a member of the Zoar Baptist church and had been for many years. He was also a member of the Edward Lawless Council Jr, O. U. A. M. of Coal Grove.
Mr. Neff is survived by his wife, Julia Moore Neff, who is postmistress at Coal Grove, and two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Gasser of Ironton, and Mrs. Ruth Dillion of Norfolk, Virginia; one grand daughter, Joyce Gaye Gasser, and these half brothers and sisters; Bernard and Earnest Kimble of Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs Vernon Molster of Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Irene Slack of Cleveland; also one full sister, Mrs. Mae Bradford of Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Neff's body was removed to the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home and will be returned to the residence in Coal Grove, where friends may call after 7 o'clock Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be conducted in the Zoar Baptist church by the Rev. Charles McKnight and Rev. Clarence Corn with burial in Woodland Cemetery by Tracy and Linda Brammer. Time and date of services will be announced later.
