Lucinda Wilborn was an orphan. She was born Aug. 19th, 1842 in Walton Co., Ga. she grew up and married a dirt farmer, Benjamin Still, Jr. They lived on the farm with Ben's father, Ben, Sr. In 1861 Ben, Sr. decided to fight for what he believed in and joined C Co,. 9th Regiment Georgia Infantry in the war between the states. He knew his son would work hard to keep the farm productive. Little did he know his son would join the same Co. and Regiment in the Spring of 1862. Ben and Lucinda's daughter, Tamaline Julia Ann Frances, was born in Dec. of 1861, so when he went off to war, she was only 4 mos. old. When he returned in 1865 she was 4 years old. Ben, Jr. returned home with an amputated right leg. Tamaline had a difficult time accepting this strangers presence in the home she previously shared with only her mother. Ben and Lucinda had 4 more children: J. Frank, Wm. "Bennie", Thomas R., and Albert Preston. Ben died in 1905 and Lucinda in 1912.
