Her and her husband lived in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. After getting up into years and having no family of their own they contacted Archie and Ada (niece) Taylor in Ontario. At this time Archie and Ada lived at Glandine Corners, Little Britain Road. They made arrangements to move to Ontario and live with Archie and Ada. They arrived in Lindsay by rail and were met by Phyllis (Taylor) Tinkess.
Archie had a washroom installed in a bedroom off the kitchen. Kate loved to eat breakfast then go and sit on the front veranda of the farmhouse and enjoy the morning. One morning after breakfast, while sitting on the veranda she became ill and suffered a fatal stroke.
