Dorothy was born in Louisville, Kentucky to William Evans Wilhoyte and Jennie Smith Wilhoyte. She taught me how to say Louisville properly.
She had polio as a child but was able to walk with a little drag on one foot. She never used crutches to the best of my knowledge.
Both George and Dorothy's families had cottages at Petosky, Michigan. They met there and eventually married. They lived north of Wauseon, Ohio on St. Rt. 108 across the road from the Clingaman/Fauver home. I consider them my third grandparents because we visited them often and they came to many of our family gatherings.
Having no children of their own, they became my brother's and my third set of grandparents. They attended many of our family events including Christmas.
