Our loving husband, father, Bobop (grandfather), brother, uncle, and friend passed away on March 28, 2011 from complications of a fall while working in his yard.

Don was born August 21, 1936 in Salt Lake City to Harvey and Reta Gord. He served in the US Army in Germany. He married his sweetheart, Margaret "Peggy" Spainhower, on November 24, 1956.

Don's family and friends were what he lived for. He was a "d--- good plumber" and was known for his great work ethic in everything he did. He was a proud member of the Plumbers Union Local 19. He belonged for years as a dedicated member of the Timp Marina Boat Club in American Fork.

Survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Margaret; children, Rick (Lori) and Vickie (Steve) Van De Merwe; grandchildren, Brian (Nichole), Tiffany (Al), and Jessica (Brandon); great-grandson, Ryker; siblings, Harvey, Gary (Janice), Marieann "Toots" Sandrietto, and Bill (Lynette), Doug (Dora); sister-in-law, Marsha Kallas (George); and many extended family. Preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Diane, and brother-in-law, Larry.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street (100 East). A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
