Virginia Craig Ledford

Virginia Craig Ledford, 83, of 640 Walnut Drive, Paducah, Ky., formerly of Stonefort and Ozark, died 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Keith Bunfill officiating. Burial will be in Bolton-Trammell Cemetery in Stonefort. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at the funeral home.

She was born March 3, 1919, in Stonefort to the late John E. and Nellie (Gurley) Craig. On June 25, 1955, she married Kermit Don Ledford, who survives.

She was a sales clerk for Walgreens and a member of Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gordon D. Ledford of Carol Stream and Steven C. Ledford of Addisson; a daughter, Doris MacIntyre of Merriack, N.H.; two sisters, Vivian Ross of Tunnel Hill and Minnetta Accettone of Huntsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church or the Bolton-Trammell Cemetery in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
