Thurman Cooper

Mr. Thurman Cooper, age 78, of 8515 Hawn Freeway, Dallas, Texas died Sunday January 6, 1980. Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Barel Hamby and Don Whitmore officiating. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper was born February 1, 1901 in Whitney. He was a farmer and lived in Whitney until 1959. He was a custodian at Dallas Independent School District until his retirement in 1971. He first married Ima T. Atchinson June 4, 1922. She died May 20, 1932. He then married May Annie Williams December 5, 1933. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Marie Copper in November 1950.
Survivors are his wife, May Cooper; 5 children, Gene Cooper of Waco, Johnnie Cooper and Jack Cooper both of Dallas, Kathleen Slovak and Joyce Rampy, both of Dallas; 1 brother, Earnest Cooper of Whitney; 3 sisters, Addie Cooper, Bill Cooper and Gladys Grigsby, all of Dallas; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
