TOM ALFORD, 70, of 106 Teays Hollow Road, Hurricane, died April 2 1990, in Putnam General Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the Painters union and a Mason. Surviving: wife, Myrtle Dragoo Alford; daughters, Helen K. Bowman of South Charleston, Betty Jane Simmons of Louisville, Ky., Hattie Blanche Patchell of St. Cloud, Fla., Sandra Faye Hatfield of Sumerco, Cindy Francis of Teays Valley, Ramona Londarbi of Seattle; brother, Fred of Hamlin; sisters, Amy Thomas of St. Albans, Verlie Cross of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Forrest Curry and the Rev. Ralph James officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Valley View Cemetery, Hurricane. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
