Henri Alfred Eugene Dericourt was born in Coulonges-en-Tardenois France,he became a civilian pilot and then he joined the French Air Force as a test pilot. After the defeat of France in 1940 WW2 - Dericourt became a civilian pilot.
In August 1942 Dericourt came to Britain and joined MI6 - his file and details were then passed to..The French Section of the Special Operations Executive. (S.O.E. not informed Dericourt worked for MI6)
After training with S.O.E. Dericourt was sent to France on January 22nd 1943 - he was the transport officer for the Prosper Network and others. Dericourt arranged flight transport for agents in and out of France and also brought in munitions and supplies.
Dericourt was known to have contacts with German intelligence and when a number of agents had been betrayed suspicion fell on Henri Dericourt. Maurice Buckmaster Section Head of the French Section did vouch for Dericourt stating he did valuable work, being very resourceful and a competent agent.
After the war the French Authorities arrested Dericourt for Treason. At his trial in 1948 - no specific evedence was offered only suspicious circumstantial evidence could be given and Dericourt was duly aquitted.
Dericourt throughout WW2 worked for MI6 and his MI6 missions were never made known to S.O.E. Even the second in command of S.O.E - Harry Sporborg who had conducted an investigation into Henri Dericourt..stated..'There was no doubt in my mind Dericourt was employed by MI6 for missions which were outside the sphere of operations for S.O.E.'
Concering the alleged reported death of Henri Dericourt in a plane crash over Laos in November 1962.
It is widely believed by many people in the intelligence sector this was not true. Dericourt was a very good pilot, and of course no body was found in the wrecked plane.
There were reported sightings of Henri in the late 1960's in New York and the South of France, even in the Middle East.
With his experience of the Operations of Intelligence Organisations - it is believed he went to work for the Russians, he did have socialist views. No evidence ever surfaced concerning Henri Dericourt's whereabouts after his plane crash..
