Born January 6th, 1907 in New Weston, Ohio, she was the daughter of Samuel P. and Bertha (Manning) Gibson. She was married on July 28th, 1923 to Lester (Bud) Aker, who died February 17th, 1953.
Surviving are four sons, Bob Aker, Salamonia; Max Aker, Wolf Lake; Sam Aker, Portland; and Richard Aker, Portland, city councilman; four daughters, Mrs. Roger (Betty) Gee, Holt, Michigan; Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Blackford, Portland; Miss Bonnie Aker, at home, and Mrs. Glen (Ruth) Lee, Portland, four sisters, Mrs. Don (Mable) Ledbetter, Mrs. Dallas (Grace) May, Mrs. Curt (Clara) Rines, all of Portland, and Mrs. Mahlon (Eva) Houser, Bryant; three brothers, Donald E. and Clyde E. Gibson, Portland, and John H. Gibson, Portland; 19 Grandchildren and 14 great-granchildren.
Mrs. Aker was a member of the Portland Wesleyan Church. She was also affiliated with the American Legion Auxiliary of Robert Guy Ayers Unit 211 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
