"Margretha Gubler Huber (40) and her 3 children, Albert (13), Emil (9) and Anna (11) came to America on the ship "Hudson", arriving in New York Harbor 20 Jul 1864. They traveled with the William Hyde pioneer company in 1864 arriving in the Salt Lake Valley 26-30 Oct. This late arriving company suffered many hardships. Forty-seven people died, this was one of the largest death tolls among Mormon wagon companies.
Also traveling on the ship and the pioneer company was a young man, Godfried Leynhardt (various spellings exist for his name) age 29 who married Margretha a year later. "
