Watson abt. 1859 PA., John Smith Watson abt. abt. 1862 PA., Clarisa M. Watson abt. 1865 Ohio, Elnora S. Watson abt. 1874 PA. James Sr. served in the Civil War. He was a private in Company A, the 187th Ohio Infantry from Feb. 17, 1865 to Jan. 20, 1866. The altoona Mirror states that he died Saturday, July 9, 1898 at 1:00 AM. of paralysis at the age of 78/79 at the home of his son John 1032 Third AV., Altoona. Surviving children James H., Thomas F., John S., and Mrs. Elmer S. Bailey of Altoona.
