T. Charles Lee was born October 22, 1914 in Madison, Minnesota. He graduated from the high school in Madison, MN.

T. Charles graduated from Oberlin College with a major in organ in 1936. He received master's and doctoral degrees from the Union Theological Seminary School of Sacred Music in New York City.

He was Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church in Worcester, Massachusetts until Nov. 1, 1959. He was also conductor of the Worcester Oratorio Society for eleven years and music director and conductor of the Worcester Music Festival for nine years. He served as organist and choirmaster at the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City from 1959 until he retired in 1985. He was also the music director and conductor of the Oratorio Society of New York and director of choral activities at Lehman College of the City University of New York.

He married Shpresa Costa of Worchester on June 27, 1948.
They moved to Florida in 1985. He died Aug 17, 1994 at the Palm Beach Hospice Center, Palm Beach, Florida. He was 79.
