Her father became enraged when she refused to enter into an arranged marriage in Iraq at age 17. She moved out and started her own life. Her father remained angry.
Cause of death: on Oct. 20, 2009 her father ran into her (and her boyfriends mother) with his jeep -- the boyfriends mother lived -- Noor was in a coma for two weeks -- her father fled the country but was found in London and is standing trial in Arizona for murder.

On Feb. 22, 2011, Faleh Hassan Almaleki was convicted of second-degree murder for killing his daughter. He was sentenced to 34½ years for Noor's murder and for gravely injuring the mother of Noor's boyfriend.
