Mabel Lewis married 1- Samuel Anthony Marcell, and they had one daughter in 1928. Mabel and Sam divorced, and Mabel married 2- William Edwin Wright, Jr. in 1937, and with her daughter, and William's daughter, Marilyn (Lynn), they moved to Southern California. Gram helped William raise Marilyn, who, it seems, was a bit on the wild side. Sadly, William died a young man, at age 47. Marilyn and Gram's daughter grew up as sisters, and both were extraordinarily beautiful.

After Lynn was married and had children, her daughters grew up loving Gram with all of their hearts. She was a hairdresser, and gave her granddaughter, Mitch her first curly perm for 1st Grade pictures. Really curly.

Gram is remembered by her granddaughters as an incredibly sweet, fun, kind lady. Even though Lynn's daughters were her "step-granddaughters", she treated them with all the love of a grandmother's heart. The girls' father was in the Army, and although the family seldom lived in California, Gram was a stabilizing influence in their lives; the same way she was for her step-daughter, Marilyn. We are all so very grateful to have had her in our lives.
