Jesus called Jenidean "Rabbit" Rountree Kelley home on January 24, 2011, at 3 a.m. She was in Providence Hospital. Service will be held on Thursday, January 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Center United Pentecostal Church in Columbia. Pastor Scott M. Smith will officiate the ceremony of her "Celebration of Life" service. Visitation will be at the church from 11-11:30. A graveside burial will take place in Midville, Ga., on Friday, January 28, at 11 a.m.

"Rabbit" was born in Dublin, Ga., January 16, 1927. Her parents were Julia Franklin and Ralph Rountree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph N. Kelley Sr., and son, Ralph N. "R.N.K." Kelley Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Karol Tothill and husband, Jim, of Columbia, Bonnie Wilkins and husband, Buddy, of Jupiter, Fla., and Pam Fridge of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Bud Wilkins of Jupiter, Betsy Ramos and husband, Elvin, of Lithia, Fla., Craig Fridge of Roanoke and Jeni Fridge of Charleston; great-grandchildren, Kayla Ramos and Ashton Kade Ramos, due to arrive in the world on February 2; sister, Louise Pratt; seven nieces and nephews.

Jenidean was reared in Dublin, Ga. She graduated from Dublin High School. She attended Shorter College where she was a music major and received her B.S. at the University of Georgia. Upon graduating, she was appointed music supervisor of Athens public schools. "Rabbit" also received her master's and specialist degrees from Georgia Southern College. She taught music in Athens and at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. She taught science at David Emanuel Academy and Swainsboro Middle School. She retired in 2000.
She was a nationally-accredited flower show judge and President of the Midville Garden Club. She also taught Sunday school for many years. After her husband died in 2001 she moved to Columbia to be near family.
