Charles William McNealy, 85, Sedalia, died May 15, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Moscow Mills, a son of Samuel T. and Mayme Millering McNealy. He was married Nov. 7, 1936, in Sedalia, to Gladys Pauline Ewing, who survives at the home.

He was superintendent of buildings and grounds at the Sedalia School District for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. He was a past master of Sedalia Lodge 236 A.F. and A.M., Scottish Rite K.C.C.H., Ararat Shrine, past patron Sedalia Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star, and past watchman of Shepherds White Shrine.

He was a past president of A.A.R.P. 2821, Meals On Wheels and Modern Woodmen Camp 2065. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and V.F.W. Post 2591.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Sue Englund, Jefferson City; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, Sedalia. The Rev. Wayne Isgriggs will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today with Masonic services at 8 p.m.
