Mary McCamish was born in Ireland in 1754 to parents John and Agnes McCamish. The family would immigrate to the United States about 1772 settling in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
She was one of four children: Three surviving were Mary, Jane and Sarah, a brother died soon after arrival in the U.S. along with her father John.
She would marry William Brown(1751-1817) sometime in 1787 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. They would have eight children together: Robert their first was a stillborn baby, Agnes Nancy, Robert II II, John McaCamish, Anna, Margaret, George and Mary Ann.
Mary and her husband William are laid to rest in Middlesex United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Middlesex County, Pennsylvania.
