Amanda Hursey, wife of ‘Squire Hursey, near Booth, Ohio, October 21st, 1895, aged 35 years, 6 months and 3 days. The deceased was a daughter of Jacob and Margaret Hart, and was married to A. C. Hursey, January 9th, 1881. To this union was born three children, two of whom have preceded her to that mansion not made with hands, but eternal in the heavens. She united with the Christian church at the early age of fifteen years and remained a steadfast and firm believer in the teachings and doctrines of that church ever afterwards. She was an exemplary woman, a kind wife and loving mother, whose genial traits of character made every one with whom she became acquainted her steadfast friend. But such is life. We live today, tomorrow we may die. Her remains were followed to her last resting place in the cemetery at Peoples' church by the largest concourse of people ever assembled there to pay their respects to one whom they had only known in life, but to love. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ezra Quillin, of Plainfield, who preached an excellent discourse to as many as were enabled to gain admittance to the church edifice. She leaves a husband and one child to mourn her loss, besides a host of relatives.
