Cepias Head, 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Head of Fieldale, died Sunday from an abscess on the brain. He was one of the brightest and most popular boys in Fieldale.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Messrs. W. L. and T. C. Head Jr., and four sisters, Misses O. B.; Willie; May; Ruth; and Louise Head. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the residence and the body was buried in Oakwood Cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. L. E. Turner, E. Sherrell, Ben Hunter, James Green (?) and H. W. Nester.

Cephas, The 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Head, died in Danville Sunday night en route to Baltimore where he was being rushed to John Hopkins Hospital in an effort to save his life, an abscess having formed on his brain. About two weeks ago he underwent an operation for mastoiditis and it was thought that he was recovering nicely until later developments which became noticeable Sunday a. m.

A beautifully touching scene, which brought tears to the eyes of all, was the deceases' former schoolmates lined up on either side of the path, as the white casket containing the remains of their comrade, was borne to the waiting hearse from his home. He was laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
