Daughter of Jacob and Abie Jane (Slater) Caston
Wife of Caleb Crose, mother to Arthur Crose and Mrs.(Ethel) George (T.)Decker.
Sister of: Mrs (Ella) Daniel (A.)Decker, Mrs. (Ida)Phillip Degrote, half sisters: Annie King and Mrs. John Walen. Brothers: Arthur Caston and William Caston.
She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Decker. Burial Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson, NY.

OBITUARY (Found in Ruth Hendrickson Hough's scrapbook, submitted by Nancy Hough a descendant by marriage) MRS MARY CASTON CROSE Mrs Mary Caston Crose died on Mondy Jan. 1, 1934 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George (T) Decker of Kerhonkson at the age of 75. She was born on Feb 5 1860 at Dairylands and was the daughter of ABIE JANE SLATER and JACOB CASTON deceased. Married COBEL (SHOULD READ: CABEL) CASTON of Kerhonkson and had lived in the vicinity of Kerhonkson all her married life. Surviving her are one son, ARTHUR CROSE and one daughter MRS GEORGE (T) DECKER, both of Kerhonkson, two sisters, MRS DANIEL DECKER, of Walden, MRS PHILLIP DEGROTE of Alligerville, two half-sisters, MRS ANNIE KING and MRS JOHN WALEN both of Briggs Street, this villiage, two brothers, ARTHUR CASTON of Dairy and WILLIAM CASTON OF RUTSONVILLE, NY and three grandchildren. Mrs. Crose was a kind and generous woman always ready to help the unfortunate. Although a cripple she was always willing to help those less forunate than herself. Funeral services were held yesterday at 2 PM at the home of her daughter and whom she lived, conducted by the Rev. M. N. Kalemjian. Interment at the Pine Bush Cemetery at Kerhonkson.

Caleb Crose had been married before, TO Frances Van Wagonen, and had a son, Thomas CROSE, who married to ANNA HENDRICKSON, daughter of John Decker Hendrickson and Louise BREYLA Hendrickson. (KNOWN TO FAMILY AS "AUNT ANNA") Abraham Crose m Anna Broadhead and Edson B. married Anna Nordmark also buried here at Pine Bush.
