Gladys Eisman Gillig, 88, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010. She was born October 3, 1922, in Victoria to the late John and Katherine Scherlen Eisman. Gladys worked at the Victoria College Library for 22 years. She was a member of Victoria County Retired Teachers Association, Our Lady of Victory Altar Society and Da Costa Sons of Hermann.

She is survived by her grandson, Christopher Lee Gillig and wife, Mary; great-grandchildren, Robert Sullivan, Crayton Schneider, Kaylee Gillig and Kai Schneider; brothers, John Eisman, Jr. and wife, Evelyn, and Allan Eisman and his wife, Gladys, all of Victoria; special friend, William Ele

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gillig Sr., son, Walter Gillig Jr. and granddaughter, Gianna Gillig.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:15 am Friday, December 3, 2010, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am, Msgr. Michael Harrold officiating.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Thomas and William Eisman, William Wilson, Roy Dittfurth, James Jurica, and John Eisman III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gladys S. Eisman, Olivia Miller, Beverly Woods, Debbie Herman and Evelyn Eisman.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory, Victoria College or Nazareth Academy.
