Passed away peacefully in Laguna Hills on Monday, October 25th surrounded by her family. Shirley was born in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1924 to John and Marion Sibley. She attended Los Angeles High School and then went to UCLA, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. While at UCLA she was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and she has stayed in touch with many of her sorority sisters to this day, She was always an excellent swimmer and spent many an afternoon swimming off Balboa Island near her family's summer home. She married Marshall Pumphrey on October 18, 1947 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills. Marshall passed away on November 19, 2006. During their 59 years of marriage they were fortunate to live in many wonderful cities such as Walnut Creek, Spokane, Seattle, Sherman Oaks, Balboa Island, La Jolla, Carlsbad, Beverly Hills, and Aliso Viejo, where they made numerous lifetime friendships.

Shirley's work history included Bullocks Wilshire, Farmers and Merchants Bank, and Ports of Call. She loved to dance and she and Marshall often went to the Casino at Avalon Bay, Catalina Island for a weekend get-away. Shirley always had a strong interest in the arts and excelled at oil painting and interior design. She was a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She was fortunate to travel all over the United States and visit Italy, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and Canada. Her favorite destination was Venice, Italy, which she visited about a dozen times. She had a profound love of animals and she almost always had a dog as a companion.

She was loved by everyone whom she met and she was especially devoted to her Family. She is survived by her two sons, Gregg and Marshall, two daughters-in-law, Kimberly and Roxanne, and her two granddaughters, Lauren and Meghan. She was the Best Wife, Mother, and Grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Private Family Services.
