NORTHFORD — Vincenza DeAngelis DellaValle, 72, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after her brave battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Carlo DellaValle.

Born in Messercola, Santa Maria Avico, Italy, on Dec. 30, 1937, daughter of the late Carmine and Anna DiNuzzo DeAngelis, Vincenza loved her family and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for flowers and gardening and was a talented cook and seamstress. After immigrating in 1973, Vincenza worked for several companies including Starter's, U.S. Surgical and later for Dow Covers until her retirement in 2000.

Mother of Rosa (Christopher) Harrison, Andrea (Penney) DellaValle and Carmine DellaValle. Grandmother of Adrianna and Carlo DellaValle, Juliana and Taylor Harrison. Sister of Alessandra Piscitelli, Carmela Improta, Pierina Ferrara, Mario (Rosa) DeAngelis, sister-in-law, Pasqua DeAngelis and the late Antonio, Maria and Antonietta DeAngelis, and nephew Vincenzo DeAngelis. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Vincenza's funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., on Friday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. Monica Church. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
