Lucille Taylor Burnette, 73, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of Mount Olive Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was the widow of the late Samuel Edwin Burnette, Sr. whom she missed dearly since his passing in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Rufus E. and Minnie Kirksey Taylor; four brothers, R.H., Robert, J.N. and Paul Taylor; two sisters, Irene Taylor and Veta Denton; and one granddaughter, Nicole Burnette.

She is survived by her children, Susan Balinger and husband, Jeff of Cleveland, Samuel E. Burnette Jr. and wife, Patricia of Calhoun and Jeffrey E. Burnette, Sr. and wife, Kandi of Calhoun; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey Burnette, Jr., David Burnette, Matthew Balinger, Nicholas Balinger, Jessica Burnette, Katlynn Burnette, Alex Burnette, Brian Hafley, Dustin Hafley and Stephanie Clayton; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Opal Cox of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery with Jeffrey E. Burnette, Jr., David E. Burnette, Matthew Balinger, Nicholas Balinger, Don Dempsey and Brian Hafley serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 2:00-3:00 on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
