Philip married Christina Hauser (1777-1855) on 20 Mar 1800 at Friedberg, on the border of Stokes and Rowan (now Forsyth and Davidson) Counties, North Carolina. Philip and Christina were the parents of seven known children, six girls and one boy, namely:
1. infant daughter Rothrock (1801-1801)
2. Elizabeth Rothrock (1802-1881)
3. Susanna Barbara Rothrock Tesh (1803-1855)
4. Lydia Rothrock Walk (1806-1877)
5. Joel Rothrock (1808-1879)
6. Maria Rothrock Nading (1812-1880)
7. Paulina Christina Rothrock Clodfelter (1817-1856)
In 1844 the parents and many of the children, left North Carolina for the Moravian outpost at West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois.
