Mr. Gillis, a farmer residing near Spiritwood, died yesterday. He had been sick for several weeks with heart disease and for a time it was thought he would recover.

Son of Roderick Gillis (ca 1800-1871) and Christine McLeod (1800-1866).

Married Christina McDonald (July 25,1837-May 11, 1885). Two children, Henry Alexander and Greta Belle Gillis.

Henry Alexander went to family in Texas and Greta Belle went to family in Nova Scotia after the death of their parents.

Henry married Hattie Carolyn Cooper and had four children, Henry D., Ona Belle,Charles L. and Maude Gillis.

Greta married John William Daniel Teed.
