Loriene Choate was born August 3, 1923 in Marble City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alford Kennedy and Emma (Yahola) Choate. She married James Leon Choate in 1941 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1957 in Marble City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Choate passed this life on September 3, 2010 in Gore, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 87 years and 1 month. She was a retired cook for the Marble City School System and member of the Holiness Church. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Marble City Holiness Church with burial at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She is survived by three daughters, Velma Blackwood of Dallas, Patsy Barnoskie of Keys, Okla., and Redeana Butler of Okmulgee, Okla.; two sons, Robert Choate of Dallas and Tom Choate of Marble City; two sisters, Louella Rush of Marble City and Jewell Morris of Tahlequah, Okla.; a brother, Thomas Kennedy of Sallisaw; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
