Joseph Vassar, Jr and his parents Joseph, Sr and Marguerite and his sister Mary came to the Dayton, MN area in 1875/1876.
Joseph, Jr was five foot five inches tall and always wore a mustache. He was short in stature but long on creative thinking and entrepreneurship. He was hard working and expected the same from those around him. Of all the boys in the family, Joseph, Jr. was most like his father.
Joe grew up at the Vassar Brickyard Farm near Dayton, MN. He spent the rest of his life working and living in Minnesota.
On Feb 7, 1899, he married Josephine Croteau and they had nine children.
