Her obituary which appeared in the Crowley Post Herald 25 February 1971 reads: Richard Rite Set Today for Mrs. Francois – Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m today in the St. Edward’s Catholic Church of Richard for Mrs. Leonard Francois of Richard who died Wednesday morning in the Savoy Memorial Hospital in Mamou. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Francois was 73. She is survived by a son Oren Francois of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. John E. Bailey of Lafayette; three brothers, Stephen Bourgeois and John Bourgeois, both of Church Point, and Simon Bourgeois of New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. L.C. Cook Francois of Church Point; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Francois was the former Estella Bourgeois. Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point directed the funeral.
