From Smith's son Report DAR 1895 pg 109-155 Abraham Hunsacker Regiment under Col. Thomas Clarke, NC Paid to Nov. 15-1783 R.Fleenor, agent.

Abraham Hunsacker was a resident of Zweibruecken in
present day Rhineland Palatinate, Germany. Zwelbruecken is very near the French border in an area that was fought over repeatedly in the religious wars of the 16 & 17 centuries. When William Penn invited the Protestants to settle in Pennsylvania, large numbers of them took up on the offer of free land. There were the Pennsylvania Dutch who still exist in considerable numbers in central Pennsylvania today.
