Alfred was buried on July 30, 1930.

Son of Allen Davis and Eliza Jane Gingrich, brother of Esther Davis Hyslop and Hiram Davis. Husband of Mary Louise Corbeille and father of Alfred Davis, Luella Davis Stegemeyer and Willard Davis.

He began life on the family farm in Greenwood Township, St. Clair County, Michigan, later moving to Muskegon with his parents. Around 1894, they eventually moved to Milwaukee where he met Mary Louise Corbeille, (niece of Joseph 'Buckwheat' Sarazin).

They married on 25 Jun 1895 at the Epworth Methodist Episcopal Church which used to stand at 4th & Center Streets in Milwaukee.

Alfred became a motorman for the old Milwaukee Street Railway, and used to operate the chartered cars which took employees to picnics at the park and other such luxuries. In his later years, he became a bridge operator.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, and lived with his daughter and her family for many years.

Alfred had been walking in Milwaukee's Doctors Park with his grandson, William Stegemeyer, when he suffered a heart attack. He was placed in the sidecar of a motorcycle policeman's bike and rushed to the hospital, but died along the way.

He is remembered fondly to this day by his grandson, who loves him still.
