Mrs. Nellie Grey Hunt Keir, age 84, of 242 Cornwallis Road, Teachey, died Sunday, September 10, 2006, at Brian Center in Wallace.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Padgett Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Alan Bandy. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Walter (Bing) Keir of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Patty Keir High and husband Bill of Fayetteville and Ms. Frances Keir of Raleigh; two sons, Larry Allen Keir of Teachey and Danny Keir and wife Ann of Wilmington; one sister, Mrs. Juanita Hunt Johnson of Rose Hill; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Keir was the daughter of the late Allen Lee and Sally Elizabeth Fussell Hunt and was a member of Teachey Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hunt Farrior; a brother, Francis Lee Hunt; a grandson, David Lee Keir; and a great-granddaughter, Serena Morgan High. Casketbearers will be Billy High, Keir High, Allen Keir, Daniel Keir, Andy High, Chris Keir and Mark High. The family will receive at their residence, 242 Cornwallis Road, Teachey, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Teachey.
