Edward Richard Nathans was inducted into the Army May 3, 1941 at Chicago, Illinois. He was a Squad Leader in the Anti-Tank Company, 320th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France on July 7, 1944 and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge July 31, 1944. SSGT Edward R. Nathans was reported missing August 12, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action on that date in the vicinity of Mortain, France.
