Came from Poland with her Mother Frances Nokonay-Bonionr(also check (owa)(which means married or widow) widow of Mr.(Nieme?)(which means German in Polish) BONIONR.
FYI-INFORMATION WAS TAKEN FROM A MARRIGE CERTIFIATE. THE INFORMATION SEEMS TO FIT HER DAUGHTHER VICTORIA and shows her Maiden name as Bonionrowna. Suffix of "owna" in Polsih means unmarried wowan.
Along with sister Mary, also Step Father Joseph Bryk and half sisters, Rose, Julia, and Josephine.
She had a full brother that stayed in Poland to care for Grand Parents and inherited property in Tarnow, Poland.
The family settled in Scranton, Pa. where their step father Josephs' 2 brothers lived.
The Brack children were forunate. They lived very comfortably until grown and started their own lives. Her mother (had her own money) tried to carry on the lifestyle she had in Poland with the thought that they would return someday.
After all, they had an inheritance from their father. Frances thought that they would return to Poland to claim their inherited land. (land was later lost)
So Frances did not let her children clean the house or do the laundrey. Ladies did not do memial labor.
Victoria was sent back to Poland to attend school. Her mother wanted her to marry into the wealthy class that she have come from.
But Victoria didn't want to marry in Austria. She preferred the lifestyle in America.
Victoria married John A.Golka, a coal miner, Feb 9 1896 at Sacred Heart Church, Scrantonn PA.(IF MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE DATED FEB 9, 1897, huband listed as JOHN GOUKA.)
They had 5 Children;
