Born as the second of fifteen children to Louis and Mary Simon. He attended public school and graduated from the Prairie View Training School in the class of 1956. He also worked with the United Saltmine Corporation, Inc for over 25 years and was a member of the Macedonia Primative Baptist Church of Waller under the leadership of Rev. OC Simmons, serving as Sunday School Superintendent including other positions such as Church Trustee and the Deacon Board of Trustees. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 1993. Survivors include: devoted wife, Rose Simon; seven children: four sons: Alan Simon of Hempstead, Texas; Wilford Simon of Sealy, Texas; Cedric Simon (Dorothy) of Fort Worth, Texas and Warren Simon (Tina) of Brookshire, Texas; three daughters: Valerie Burton (Willie) of Bryan, Texas; Paula Simon and Carmella Stevens, both of Waller, Texas; two stepdaughters: Cynthia Jackson of Waller, Texas and Evelyn Wallace of Hearne, Texas and one stepson: Christopher Jackson of Waller, Texas; 29 grandchildren; a loving mother: Mary Simon of Prairie View, Texas; three brothers: Louis Simon, Jr (Reba) of Houston, Texas; Isaac Simon of Houston, Texas; James Simon of Prairie View, Texas; seven sisters: Orelia Alexander (Romeo, Sr.,) of Waller, Texas; Loretha Myers (Felton, Sr) of Houston, Texas; Mary Simon of Houston, Texas; Lorena Armstrong of Lansing, Michigan; Agnes Simon of Webster, Texas; Erma Simon Sadberry of Prairie View, Texas; Diana Loftis (William, Sr) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. Visitation was held on Friday, March 12, 1993 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Singleton and Sons Funeral Home, 627 New Orleans Street Hempstead, Texas 77445. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 13, 1993 at 1:00pm at the Bailey Chapel Church of God In Christ, 3004 Sledge Street Waller, Texas 77484: Supt. Thomas Johnson as the Officiant and Rev. Richard D. Hayes of the Center Hill Baptist Primative Baptist Church of Hempstead, Texas as the eulogist. Graveside Service to follow at the Hockley Community Cemetery in Hockley, Texas. The repast was held at the Waller Baptist Church in Waller, Texas.
