EMIL FREDERICK HERZOG (1873-1945).
Franz ("Frank"), Flora, and Emil Herzog immigrated to America when Emil was about four. The young family departed Hamburg, Germany, on August 29, 1877, aboard the S. S. Lessing and arrived in New York City on September 11, 1877. They soon settled in Atchison County, Kansas, where Frank worked as a carpenter.
Frank married Rosamunde (Dohring) Richter, daughter of Johann Dohring/Doering and Henriette Lang, ca 1892; they were married until his death. The couple had four children together, all sons, namely:
GEORGE HERZOG (1893-1972),
FRANK HERZOG (1894-1971),
OTTO HERZOG (1895-1978), and
ERNEST HERZOG (1896-1965).
Frank also had a stepdaughter, HATTIE ("PEGGIE") (RICHTER) [BOATMAN] THURMAN (1885-1960), who was the daughter of his second wife and her first husband, Rosamunde (Dohring) and Karl August Gustave Richter.
