Mrs. Di Girolamo Dies, Rites Set
Nederland, TX - Mrs. Carrie Di Girolamo, 75, of 1819 30th St., Nederland, a 65-year resident of the Mid- and South county area, died today at 5:40 a. m. at Mid-Jefferson county hospital after a lengthy illness.
Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock at the Nederland Memorial Funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. in St. Charles Catholic church with the Rev. Ronald Gougenheim, an assistant pastor at the church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial park in Port Arthur.
Mrs. Di Girolamo, a native of Italy, was the widow of Thomas Di Girolamo, a longtime Port Arthur grocer, who died some time ago. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic church here and formerly a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church in Port Arthur.
Survivors are one son, Frank Girolamo of Port Arthur; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Maranto of Nederland, Mrs. Roy (Rose) Cappadonna, Sr. of Groves, and Mrs. James (Johnnie) Burns of Beauxart Gardens; one brother, Leon Plaia of Beaumont; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank J. Maranto, Joe Barclay, Roy S. Cappadonna, Jr., Mitchell Plaia, and Thomas L. and Frank K. Girolamo.
