Albert Drysdale entered the Confederate service on May 17,
1861 in Company F, 3rd Florida Regiment and was in several engagements. He was
captured at the Battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and in prisoned at Camp Chase,
Ohio for six months until exchanged. Upon returning to his regiment at
Chattanooga, Tennessee, companies A & F were consolidated and he commanded them
until the end of the war.
