COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Shirlie Kirby Maxwell, 55, of Baxter, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 13, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Joe Bob Allison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Wed., Jan. 12, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maxwell died on Tues., Jan. 11, 2000, at her residence.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1944, in Bledsoe County to the late Jessie and Claudia Cole Kirby. Mrs. Kirby was a retired assembler from Aqua Tech of Sparta. She was a member of Rock Castle Emmanuel Church of Christ.

Her family includes four brothers, Carl and Burch Kirby, both of Cookeville, and Jerry and Thomas Kirby, both of Baxter; a sister, Ann Massa of Baxter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Maxwell; and a brother, Jackie Kirby.
