VICTORIA - Dominga "Dee" Ratcliff, 77, of Victoria, died Monday, April 17, 2006.
She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Wharton, to the late Jesus and Frances Sanchez Belasquez. She was a nurse for 45 years before retiring in 1992. She worked for Dr. Robert H. Johnston Jr. for 20 years and was directly involved in the first open heart surgery in Victoria.
Survivors: husband, Jimmy Ratcliff; sons, James William Ratcliff of Universal City and former Sheriff Mike Ratcliff of Victoria; sister, Lois Lohman of San Antonio; brother, Lupe Belasquez of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: sister, Lucy Lara.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Thursday at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Mr. Joe Morris Sr. officiating.
