CLAXTON - Ruby M. Burkhalter, 58, died March 6 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
She was a native of Orangeburg, S.C., and a member of the First Assembly of God in Orangeburg, but attended the Church of God in Statesboro. She was a member of the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology.
SURVIVORS: her husband, Doyle Burkhalter of Claxton; two sons, James Scott of Claxton and Marty Scott of Orangeburg; two stepdaughters, Mona Lisa B. Beasley of Boca Raton, Fla. and Kim B. Williams of Brooklet; six brothers, Danny Kennerly of Concord, N.C., and Dean, Ernest, George M., Mike and William Martin of Orangeburg; three sisters, Sandra Jameson of Orangeburg, Jean Reeves of Atlanta and Susie Ryan of Orangeburg; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
VISITATION: 6 p.m. todat at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church, burial in Antioch Cemetery.
