"Hans Schott, ex-selectman, police chief of Huntington" 87, of Pine St.,former selectman and chief of police died Saturday at home. He served three terms as selectman, two of which he spent as chairman. He later became chief of police, retiring in 1982 after serving the town 27 years. He was owner and operator of the Huntington Garage until 1980. He lived in Huntington 60 years and was a member of the Federated Church. In 1982 he donated proceeds from his retirement testimonial to the Huntington Public Library. His wife Dorothy(Wilcox)Schott, died in 1971. He leaves two sons; Edward H. and Leonard C. both of Huntington;, a sister, Elsie Franke of Springfield;and five grandchildren. F.C.Haley Funeral Home with burial in Norwich Bridge Cemetery.(buried later in the spring after the ground thawed)

Hans was in the Navy before WWII, USS Battleship Pennsylvania, Hull #38. Nickname:Champ(boxer on board ship)
Owned an Indian Motorcycle in the 1920's.
