My grandfather was a survivor of the Armenian genocide of 1915, born in the city of Harput, his parents where killed during that period. He was in the seminary.
In 1919 married Haiganoush Agopian.
They left Turkey, with a daughter and a son(that passed away at the age of two years), and lived for about one year in the city of Lyon, France.
In October of 1924 they finally arrive at the port of Veracruz in Mexico, and went to live in Mexico City where they had four more children.
Came to the city of Tijuana in 1946, where my grandfather lived until he passed away.
He died when I was only 10 years old, but in those brief years, I still remember my grandfather telling a lot of interesting stories.
I hope he had live longer so he could teach me about my roots.
He was always very grateful to Mexico because it gave him a home away from home.
