MARENGO - Dorothy E. London, 87, of Marengo, died Sunday Dec. 25, 2005, in Mountain Home Ark.

She was born Dec. 19, 1918 in Rockford, to Fred and Nora (Nealon) Engle. She married John Robert London on March 31, 1937, in Belvidere.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the McHenry County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and taking care of her cats.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy (Norman) Saal of Mountain Home and Susan (George) Standish of Union; six grandchildren, Debbie (Jim) Grude of Marengo, Peggy (Nick) Skenandore of Bolingbrook, Dan Gehrke of Belvidere, Sunny (Jose) Herrera of Marengo, Shana (Eric) Beyer of Milton, Wis., and George (Rebecca) Standish of McHenry; nine great-grandchildren, Chris, Jessie and Alysa Grude, Abigail Skenandore, Ashleigh, Gabriel and Jordan Herrera, and Jadyn and Beth Beyer; and a sister-in-law Vera Engle of Woodstock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in 1989; a sister, Donna Roberts: two brothers, Fred and William Engle; and a son-in-law, Delbert Gehrke.

The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. It will continue from 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, until the 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her name to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
