DEAN POIRIER - After serving in the U.S. Navy, he lived in Phoenix, AZ for 20 years and worked 18 years at the U.S. Post Office. He then moved to Orlando and was employed at Palmetto Elementary School as a third grade teacher. His passions were education (holding three higher education degrees) and home and gardening. He is survived by spouse: William "Bill" Throckmorton; father: Ronald Poirier, Sr.; brothers: Ronald, Jr (Jeannie) of East Bridgewater, MA; Darren of Kissimmee; Daniel (Christine) of Merritt Island; Dana of South Florida and sister: Michelle (James) Garrett of Orlando. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Froio Poirier and his maternal grandparents, Irene and Anthony Froio. A funeral service will be held at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Orlando, FL. Published in the Orlando Sentinel April 26, 2010
